COLUMBUS, Ind. — A coffee shop is set to open in April at the former location of Bistro 310 on Fourth Street in downtown Columbus. Owners, Tyler and Alissa Hodge are working to transform the 3,700-square foot facility into Lucabe Coffee, an endeavor that sets them apart from other similar businesses.
The Hodges will offer coffee, tea, pastries, sandwiches and baked goods at the location. There are also plans to add a children’s play area, a stage for local performers, a coffee tasting area, and a space that can be rented for private events. The couple says they will offer free coffee to first responders before and after their shifts.
Rent for the city-owned property will be $2,516-per-month and will increase $1 per square foot each year. Lucabe Coffee will be responsible for taxes, maintenance, utilities, and insurance. The business will be subject to a 10 percent penalty if rent payments are late.
