SEYMOUR, Ind. — Jackson County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a local man after a pursuit early Tuesday.
Police reports indicate they encountered a suspicious vehicle at the intersection of Tipton and Burkhart Streets in Seymour around 12 a.m. After following the vehicle on several downtown streets, the deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the driver, later identified as Michael Romero, 28, of Jackson County. Romero fled from police at a high rate of speed before spinning his vehicle and crashing it into a ditch on Hartsell Drive.
Romero was taken into custody and charged with resisting law enforcement with a vehicle, resisting law enforcement, driving while suspended, and an outstanding Jackson County warrant.
