COLUMBUS, Ind. — Columbus resident and former Nashville reserve police officer, Leonard Burch, 25, has had a public defender appointed to him. Burch is facing charges after being involved in a fatal motorcycle pursuit in August.
Burch will be represented in Bartholomew Superior Court 2 by the Whitted Law firm. A pre-trial hearing has been scheduled for April 19, at 1:30 p.m., and the trial is set to begin on May 18.
Burch is charged with chasing Xavier Scrogham at a high rate of speed from the Taylorsville area through parts of Columbus until Scrogham crashed his motorcycle on Sunland Road.
