COLUMBUS, Ind. — Motorists in southern Indiana can expect several bridge closures on State Road 135 and State Road 58 due to construction this year.
The Indiana Department of Transportation says restrictions are planned at the State Road 135 bridge over the Little Beanblossom Creek in Brown County and the bridge will be closed for up to 75 days. The State Road 135 bridge over the Mosier Branch, north of State Road 45 in Brown County, is expected to be closed for up to 60 days. The State Road 135 bridge over Bear Creek in Morgan County will shut down for approximately 45 days. The State Road 135 bridge, about 10 miles north of State Road 58, will be closed for up to 60 days. Start dates for these projects are expected to be released soon.
In April, the State Road 135 bridge over Hamilton Creek, 7.6 miles north of State Road 58, will be closed for 30 days. In mid-May, the State Road 135 bridge, 5.2 miles north of U.S. 50, will be impassable for 30 days.
Bridge replacement on State Road 58, three miles west of State Road 135, will require a 150-day closure. The detour will use State Road 135, State Road 446, and U.S. Highway 50.
The value of all the work planned is about $3.5 million.
