FRANKLIN, Ind. — Officials from Indiana American Water say they have invested more than $2.2 million and replaced more than two miles of aging water main in Franklin. The 13 projects were designed to improve quality and reliability during the winter months, and enhance fire protection capabilities.
“This investment in our water system replaces aging pipe that, in many cases, has outlived its usefulness, ensuring that our customers continue to receive quality, reliable water service for many years to come,“ said Indiana American Water president, Deborah Dewey.
A report from the American Society of Professional Engineers’ says, most of the water infrastructure is a century old and they gave it a D grade. The ASPE graded the wastewater systems a D+. Over the last two years, IAW has invested $140 million statewide to upgrade its infrastructure.
