COLUMBUS, Ind. — The Columbus Area Metropolitan Planning Organization has opened a 30-day comment period for the Draft 2018-21 Transportation Improvement Program Update. Residents can find a copy of the draft plan by clicking here. Printed copies are available at Columbus and Hope branches of the Bartholomew County Public Library. The plan is also available at the city of Columbus Planning Department in city hall.
Comments can be made by mail to 123 Washington Street, Columbus, IN, 47201, or by email to lthayer@columbus.in.gov . Following the 30-day comment period, the Policy Board will consider adoption of the plan. The meeting is scheduled for Monday, May 8, 2017, at 1:30 p.m., in city council chambers and is open to the public.
Some of the projects in the draft TIP include improvements for Talley Road, sections of Goeller Road and County Road 350W, and Lowell Road from County Road 325W to Indianapolis Road. Planned bicycle and pedestrian facilities include a People Trail Connection that will link Noblitt, Donner and Lincoln parks. The TIP also programs capital and operational funds for ColumBUS Transit.
