COLUMBUS, Ind. – A Seymour man is in custody after a standoff with police Thursday, around 4 p.m.
According to a report from the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department, residents in the area of Ross Street in Columbus were asked by authorities to stay in their homes and lock their doors after Ian Gardner, 26, allegedly fired shots in an attempt to escape officers serving an arrest warrant. Several officers and canine units tracked Gardner to a home in the area where he was arrested after a brief negotiation with SWAT officers.
