WHITELAND, Ind.— UPDATE: New Whiteland Police Department reports the situation is under control and the suspects are no longer in the area. However, additional security will be on patrol as a precaution.
Original story: Television station Fox59 in Indianapolis is reporting that early Friday morning two suspects allegedly fired shots at law enforcement officers in Johnson County. Those individuals are now on the run and the Whiteland Police Department told the media that a perimeter has been established along Whiteland Road near U.S. 31 in hopes of containing the men.
K-9 officers and an Indiana State Police helicopter are assisting with the manhunt. More information will be forthcoming as it develops.
