GREENWOOD, Ind. – In the past several years, the Central Nine Career Center in Greenwood has increased programming to meet local demands for welders, HVAC, and early childhood education teachers. In turn, it has grown the student body by 10 percent. Franklin Community, Whiteland Community, Greenwood, and Indiana Creek High Schools are among the nine schools, from eight school corporations, that send students.
Now the career center, with more than 1200 students, has no room for additional programs, says program director Nicole Otte. The vocational institution is looking at ways to expand.
Central Nine Career Center is an area career/technical school dedicated to the development of the knowledge and skills necessary to prepare students for employment in a chosen career and furthering their education at a post-secondary institution.
