COLUMBUS, Ind. – The National Weather Service (NWS) in Indianapolis has been surveying several areas in central Indiana after severe storms hit on Saturday and Sunday. So far, NWS survey teams have confirmed nine tornadoes after investigating Rush, Green, Monroe, Marion, Wayne, Fayette, Union and Owen Counties.
On Monday, teams continued to survey different counties, including Bartholomew, which was hit over the weekend. Local News Digital has not yet received a report from NWS on its findings in Bartholomew County. The National Weather Service did say on Saturday night that a small tornado briefly touched down in a field near Newbern.
NWS says flooding remains an issue in Bartholomew, Jackson, and Jennings Counties with flash flood watches in effect.
