COLUMBUS, Ind. – Authorities at the Columbus Police Department (CPD) say a local woman was arrested on drug possession charges after she was supposedly seen shoplifting at a Columbus store on Wednesday afternoon.
CPD was dispatched to the eastside Walmart around 4:50 p.m., concerning a woman possibly removing the price tags from items and putting the merchandise in her purse. She was identified as Lacey Campbell, 32, of Columbus.
Police say the suspect tried to leave the store without paying. While confiscating the items, CPD allegedly found methamphetamine and hydrocodone on her person.
Campbell was transported to the Bartholomew County Jail and booked on preliminary charges of possession of meth and possession of a controlled substance.
