COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Otter Creek Management Corporation board elected John McCormick as president and Dave McKinney as secretary-treasurer at a Friday afternoon meeting. The two new officers were appointed by Columbus Mayor Jim Lienhoop.
In remarks to the board, McCormick noted the need to respond to the fact that Cummins, Inc. was scaling back its involvement in the property. McCormick said his objective was to preserve the golf course, a task made challenging by the number of courses in the community. His immediate priority is to set up subcommittees to address various aspects of managing Otter Creek.
The board accepted two loans, one from the Heritage Fund and one from Cummins. Each is for $250,000. McCormick said the loans will provide “funding to get us to spring and take care of debts.”
