COLUMBUS, Ind. – UPDATE 2: The Columbus Police Department reports that law enforcement officers investigating the death of Cassondra Wilson were notified by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department that the victim’s former husband, Troy Wilson, 44, was found deceased in Indianapolis on Saturday afternoon. Authorities say that Wilson was a person of interest in the ongoing death investigation of his ex-wife, who was shot and killed at a Columbus apartment complex Friday night.
UPDATE 1: The name of the woman killed in Friday night’s shooting at a Columbus apartment building has been released. She was identified as Cassondra M. Wilson, 45, of Columbus. Police say the investigation into her death is ongoing.
COLUMBUS, Ind. – Original: Local law enforcement officers are investigating the death of a woman who was shot at a Columbus apartment complex on Friday night. The Columbus Police Department (CPD) responded to Spruce Ridge Apartments, in the 3700 block of Picea Place, at around 9 p.m., in regards to a fatal shooting.
CPD reportedly arrived a short time later and found a deceased, adult female inside the apartment.
The incident is being investigated by the Bartholomew County Death Investigation Team, which consists of officers and detectives from the Columbus Police Department, the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office, and the Indiana State Police, as well as representatives from the Bartholomew County Prosector’s Office and the Bartholomew County Coroner’s Office.
