COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Bartholomew County 4-H Fair Board announced Monday evening that a typical fair will not be held in 2020 due to safety concerns for 4-H members and volunteers. While the Indiana Back on Track plan would allow gatherings over 250 people five days before the fair’s proposed start, the challenge is the ability to be ready and meet all of Purdue University’s guidelines.
With requirements to enforce social distancing, full PPE including face coverings, temperature checks, and comprehensive tracking of everyone who is on the fairgrounds, the Bartholomew County Fair Board felt it would be impossible to comply with requirements and ensure the safety of attendees.
A virtual fair for all 4-H projects will be held and more information on that is forthcoming.
