COLUMBUS, Ind. – Earlier this month, the Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation (BCSC) released a survey to families seeking input regarding reopening procedures for the 2020-2021 school year that begins August 6. It included questions and concerns regarding plans to return to schools and a place for comments.
Over 8000 surveys were received and about 75% of the respondents indicated they plan to send their child to BCSC for the traditional instruction in August. However, many noted that they were concerned about their child’s special services and activities. Parents said they were also anxious about the challenges of students maintaining social distancing and the corporation’s proper cleaning and disinfecting of facilities.
BCSC is developing its reopening plan by using data from the survey, plus input from stakeholders, the Bartholomew County Health Department, and the State and Federal Governments.
The school corporation plans to release reopening details around July 6.
