FRANKLIN, Ind. – Franklin Community Schools (FCS) has announced that seven schools in the district were named recipients of the state’s inaugural Purple Star school designation by the Indiana Department of Education. The award is presented to schools that have displayed a significant commitment to service members, veterans, and students and families connected to the nation’s military.
Creekside Elementary, Custer Baker Intermediate School, Franklin Community High School, Franklin Community Middle Schools, Needham Elementary, Northwood Elementary, and Union Elementary were all honored with the Purple Star Designation.
“Franklin Community Schools is proud to serve many military families,” said FCS Superintendent Dr. David Clendening. “With our location near several important military and national guard bases, we have a long and rich history of educating the children of military families in our district.”
