HOPE, Ind. – The Hope Volunteer Fire Department (HVFD) announced Thursday that its recent purchase of “Truck 12” had been delivered. The new-to-HVFD apparatus is a 1998 Pierce Dash “Quint” with an 85-foot aerial platform.
Officials say it is in excellent condition with very low hours and miles. Once placed in service and training completed, “Truck 12” will replace Engine 13.
HVFD says the new apparatus allows the department to have a faster response to a fire in a multi-story structure. Currently, HVFD would have to wait for an aerial device from Columbus to attack a blaze at a multi-story building.
