COLUMBUS, Ind. – A local woman was cited after she crashed a pickup truck into a Columbus home on Tuesday morning. The Columbus Police Department (CPD) was called to the 3100 block of Flintwood Drive at 11:30 a.m. after a report of a vehicle that crashed into a residence.
When officers arrived, they spoke to the driver, Denise L. Bruton, 54, of Columbus, who advised that she was heading east on Chapel Drive, when her pickup apparently experienced a brake problem. Bruton said she was unable to stop her truck which continued across Flintwood Drive and struck the house. The home was occupied at the time of the accident. No injuries were reported.
CPD said Bruton was charged with driving while suspended with a prior conviction and operating a vehicle without insurance. The crash remains under investigation.
