COLUMBUS, Ind. – The now former Vice President, Mike Pence, received a warm welcome as he returned home immediately after attending President Joe Biden’s inauguration ceremony on Wednesday.
Longtime supporters gathered outside the Columbus Municipal Airport to welcome Pence and his family as he returned to his home town.
“It is great to be back,” began Pence. “To be able to fly home to my hometown means more than I can tell you. To look out at this crowd, and so far I haven’t seen one face that I haven’t known for years, I thank you for that.”
Understandably, it was an emotional day for Pence as his term ended, but in his words, “we just had to come home.” He shared that serving as America’s Vice President was the greatest honor of his life, and said his family is planning to move back to Indiana.
