COLUMBUS, Ind. – Circuit Court Judge Kelly Benjamin and Superior Court I Judge James Worton reported to the Community Corrections Advisory Board on Friday morning that the problem-solving court programs they oversee have emerged from the past year’s pandemic challenges in good shape.
Benjamin said that two people recently graduated from the adult court programming and seven more are nearly ready to do so. Regarding drug court, she said it was “amazing how the court teams have come together” and the fact that the participants are doing so well “speaks volumes” about the program.
She is hopeful that both adult court and drug court can each increase client capacity from 25 to 35.
Worton said it was gratifying to begin seeing veteran court clients in person again.
