SOUTH-CENTRAL, Ind. – Light snow and ice were the cause of several accidents in Bartholomew and Jackson County on Thursday morning.
The worst of the crashes happened at around 5:30 a.m. on northbound I-65 and was investigated by Indiana State Police and the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office. Two semis jack-knifed near the 46-mile marker, south of Seymour.
There were no serious injuries. Both northbound lanes of I-65 were finally reopened at about 10:30 a.m. after being closed for approximately five hours for cleanup.
Traffic was diverted onto U.S. 31, which ended up being slow-moving due to secondary crashes.
