INDIANAPOLIS – Columbus East High School graduate Jordan Johnston is gaining experience as an intern with State Rep. Jim Lucas (R-Seymour) and his fellow members of the Indiana House of Representatives during the 2022 legislative session.
Johnston, a North Vernon resident, is currently attending Purdue University and majoring in psychology, with a political science minor.
“Being from a small town, I never thought I would be involved in politics, but this internship has given me that chance,” Johnston said. “My favorite part has been the relationships I’ve made with our state representatives.”
As a legislative intern, Johnston corresponds with constituents through phone calls/emails, and also staffs committee hearings and floor proceedings.
