COLUMBUS, Ind. – The destruction of the former Goody’s clothing store space in NexusPark (the former Fair Oaks Mall) began Monday. The space was detached from the structure of the old mall last week.
The demolition is the next step in the development of NexusPark, as space is made for the construction of the 150,000-square-foot sports fieldhouse on the north side of the property.
Fencing went up on the north side of NexusPark in July. Traffic and parking are currently not being allowed on that portion of the property.
NexusPark is a partnership of the City of Columbus, Columbus Regional Health, and the Columbus Parks and Recreation Department to refurbish the former Fair Oaks Mall into a community sport, recreation, and wellness facility in the heart of the city.
