DELPHI, Ind. – The Delphi Double Homicide Task Force has made an arrest for the 2017 murders of teenagers Abigail Williams and Liberty German. The announcement came at a media conference Monday morning.
On February 13, 2017, the two young girls were killed while visiting the Monon High Bridge in Delphi. Shortly thereafter, the Indiana State Police (ISP) and Carroll County Sheriff’s office created the Delphi Double Homicide Task Force, which encompassed federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies. The task force has worked on the case over the last five-and-a-half years.
On Wednesday, October 26, detectives with the task force took Richard Allen, 50, of Delphi, into custody at the ISP Lafayette Post and booked him for the murders of Abigail Williams and Liberty German. He was transported to Carroll County Jail, where he was initially being held.
On Friday, October 28, Allen was formally charged with two counts of murder and taken to the White County Jail, where he is currently being held without bond.
