COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Columbus Indiana Slowpitch Softball Hall Of Fame (CISSHOF) held its fourth induction ceremony and banquet on Saturday night at the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Over 200 softball enthusiasts attended.
Fifteen former players, coaches, umpires, and teams were honored and accepted into the local Hall of Fame.
Players included Steve Corya, Charlie Swengal, Tommy Crawford, Rich Delay, Steve Pavey, Randy Lawson, Jerry Littrell, Danny Reynolds, Steve Hollenbeck, and Donn Voyles. Joining the players were the Columbus Softball Assoc., coach Dave Cleland, and umpire Mike Gehring.
Two legendary teams were also honored: The Ponytails, a women’s team from 1975-1986, and the 1971-1975 Tom Pickett’s men’s team.
CISSHOF continues to grow and will add a separate Women’s Division in 2023, chaired by Leanne Blackerby. The men’s division will continue to have Jerry Cox as its head.
