COLUMBUS, Ind. – Tony Moravec, successful Columbus businessman, entrepreneur, and champion for various community-centric causes, has died at the age of 72.
The local philanthropist was found dead in his truck near the Factory 12 Event Loft parking lot on Tuesday night, as reported by The Republic.
Moravec was a founder of Applied Laboratories, Inc., president of Blairex Laboratories, Inc., and owner of Zaharako’s Ice Cream Parlor and Museum. He also owned Moravec Realty LLC and Upland Columbus Pump House.
Ivy Tech’s Moravec Hall, which opened in October of this year, was dedicated and named in his honor.
