COLUMBUS, Ind. – Judy Jackson, the public information officer (PIO) at the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO), is calling it quits at the end of the year.
“My first job was working for my dad at the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office in 1962,” Jackson said. “I thank Sheriff Myers for allowing my career to come full circle.”
“It has been a pleasure to work with the men and women of BCSO. I have also enjoyed the working relationships and friendships with the media,” she continued.
Jackson is considering this Retirement – Take II. After 24 years, she retired from the City of Columbus in January 2012. She was the administrative assistant to Mayor Max Andress for eight years (two terms) and served as the executive director of the city’s Department of Community Development for Mayor Fred Armstrong for 16 years (four terms).
Sheriff-elect Lane has chosen detective Dane Duke as his PIO and he begins on January 1, 2023.
