COLUMBUS, Ind. – Hunger needs at local food pantries are up almost 30% this year. Every month, over 5,000 Bartholomew County residents seek food from local pantries. You can help by attending the 25th annual Empty Bowls fundraiser this Saturday, February 25, at Central Middle School from 5 to 7 p.m.
Tickets start at $15 dollars and all proceeds help fight hunger in Columbus and Bartholomew County. So far, organizers have reached half of their $20,000 goal.
Guests will enjoy unlimited soup, bread, and cookies. Ceramic bowls crafted by local artists, teachers, and students will be available for purchase at the event. Music will be provided by Dan and Linda Mustard.
Proceeds from Empty Bowls go directly to six local pantries and shelters: Love Chapel, Turning Point, the Salvation Army, the Community Center of Hope, Thrive Alliance, and Horizon House.
