TRAFALGAR, Ind. – A Trafalgar woman died following an accident on Friday afternoon. The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) responded to the crash at 3:42 p.m. at the intersection of State Road 135 and County Road 500W.
According to law enforcement, a 16-year-old juvenile was attempting to turn left onto County Road 500W when he struck a pickup truck occupied by driver Hugh Gossage, 79, and passenger, Mary Gossage, 79, both of Trafalgar. The teen told deputies that he did not see the other vehicle, per the accident report.
Both occupants of the truck were taken to IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis in critical condition. Mary Gossage died of injuries sustained during the crash, according to JCSO. The juvenile was transported to Riley Hospital in serious condition, according to the Trafalgar Fire Department.
Responding agencies included the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, Trafalgar Police Department, Trafalgar Fire Department, and the Bargersville Fire Department.
