HOPE, Ind. – The Hope Volunteer Fire Department (HVFD) is accepting offers for one of its surplus fire engines.
The vehicle originated as a 1962 Boyer Quad on a Ford chassis from the Franklin Fire Department. After acquiring it, HVFD bought the current Freightliner chassis in 1993 and had it refurbished to what it is today.
Original engine parts are located from the cab back, including the fire pump. The pump has not been serviced or tested in the last four years. It cannot be used in fire service unless it is brought up to standards.
The engine has new tires on the front and new brakes all around two years ago. The chassis has very low mileage at only 17,798 miles. If you would like to submit an offer or have any other questions, email Deputy Chief Mathis at adam_mathis09@hotmail.com.
The fire truck sits in front of the HVFD station if you would like to check it out.
