COLUMBUS, Ind. – John Prohaska has announced his intention to be a candidate for Bartholomew County Council At-Large in the 2024 Republican Primary. His priorities include lower taxes, support for local law enforcement, and improving county infrastructure.
“I want to build on the positive contributions of the leaders of the past and to bring a fresh approach to tackling the challenges our county will face in the years to come,” Prohaska said in a news release. “I believe I have the right tools to serve the citizens of Bartholomew County on the County Council.”
Prohaska is a lifelong resident of Bartholomew County and a graduate of Franklin College. He started his career in the family business and for the past twenty years has worked for Cummins.
Over the past 30 years, he has served several volunteer organizations including as President of the Board of Directors for the South-Central Indiana Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association and the Harrison Township Volunteer Fire Company. He is also currently serving as Vice President of the Bartholomew County Plan Commission Board and as a member of the Bartholomew County Plat Committee.
John has been married to his wife Charlotte for 32 years and they have four adult children, one grandchild, with the second on the way.
