JOHNSON COUNTY – The 2023 Johnson County Fair is set to officially open this Sunday, July 16. However, the parade steps off a day earlier on Saturday, July 15. Line-up for the parade is at noon at Franklin Middle School followed by the start of the parade at 1 p.m.
A prize of $100 will be given to the best 4-H float and the best adult float. The judges will be placed in the middle of the parade looking for the floats that have been put together in the most creative way.
Second and third-place float winners will be awarded $50 and $25, respectively. All prize winners will be notified on the evening of the parade and announced at the Johnson County Fair Queen’s Contest on Sunday at 7 p.m.
