GREENWOOD, Ind. – SECOND UPDATE (6 p.m.): Jacob M. Moran, the suspect in the Greenwood case of a son shooting and killing his father, was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon by the Michigan State Police just across the state line.
The Greenwood Police Department is in direct communication with the Michigan State Police and is working with them on this case. The Johnson County Coroner’s Office determined Shaun Moran’s manner of death to be homicide with the cause being a single gunshot wound.
UPDATE (10:50 a.m.): The Greenwood Police Department (GPD) is looking for a 22-year-old man accused of shooting and killing his father on Monday night.
Officers responded to the 400 block of Euclid Avenue on Monday at 6:45 p.m. after a report of a person being shot. Law enforcement found Shaun Moran, 45, dead of an apparent gunshot wound in the garage. Police say the suspect, Jacob Moran, was reportedly upset with the victim after being told to move out, according to GPD.
Jacob M. Moran is 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs about 120 pounds, with blue eyes and brown hair. He is driving a white 4-door 2015 BMW which bears an Indiana paper plate S102342. Moran is considered armed and dangerous and is actively being sought by police. Anyone spotting Moran or his vehicle is asked to call 911 immediately.
ORIGINAL (9:15 a.m.): The Johnson County Coroner’s Office is conducting a death investigation after a person was shot.
The incident happened Monday evening in the 400 Block of Euclid Avenue. A medical examination is scheduled for this morning, according to the coroner’s office.
The Greenwood Police Department (GPD) is handling the investigation.
