COLUMBUS, Ind. – Community members who need their taxes done can now sign up for free tax filing through United Way of Bartholomew County’s VITA Volunteer Tax Assistance program.
The program provides complimentary tax filings for Bartholomew County residents with incomes of $66,000 or less. IRS-certified volunteers offer confidential and secure basic income tax return preparation, including electronic filing, for eligible individuals.
Income tax assistance is by appointment only and is available at the Doug Otto United Way Center until mid-April on a first-come, first-served basis. To reserve an appointment, call 812-375-2216 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., Mondays through Fridays.
