FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Franklin College Art Department welcomed award-winning artist Tiffany Black to campus to teach “Public and Community Art: Mural Creation” during Immersive Term this month.
The class has taken 23 students, step-by-step, through the stages of how to create a community mural. The heart of this Immersive Term course lies in creating the paint-by-number mural that pays homage to Franklin College.
The “Spirit of Community” mural consists of four panels, each depicting a different aspect of the history of Franklin College: Tradition, Athletics, Innovation, and Diversity.
Black returns to campus on February 26, to give a 6 p.m. lecture, followed by a ribbon cutting to reveal the mural paying homage to the school’s storied history.
