NORTH VERNON, Ind. – The Jennings County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) responded to a reported theft at a Campbell Township residence on Friday afternoon. Several chainsaws, a concrete saw, a large propane heater, and other items were supposedly taken.
Information gathered led to another location where law enforcement engaged, Kenneth C. Redkey, 43, of North Vernon, in the driveway of the home.
Deputies found several of the alleged stolen articles in the bed of the suspect’s pickup. After further investigation, JCSO discovered more of the reported pilfered property along with methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug-related items inside his vehicle.
The stolen items were returned and Redkey was arrested and booked into the Jennings County Jail on the charges of Possession of Stolen Property (Level 6 Felony), Possession of Meth (Level 6 Felony), Possession of Marijuana (A Misdemeanor), and Possession of Paraphernalia (A Misdemeanor).
All subjects arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
