COLUMBUS, Ind. – Columbus City Utilities customers will soon notice a new look to their monthly billing statement.
Starting in June, Columbus City Utilities will begin using a new billing system that offers new online payment options. Payments made online, for example, will now show up instantly in the customer’s account, avoiding future billing and water shutoff errors. Customers will also be able to view payment and water usage history online.
All customers will receive a new statement by mail in June. This includes those who have signed up for paperless billing in the past. Each customer will receive a new five-digit account number.
Once a customer receives the new statement, they can go to columbusutilities.org to set up an account in the online billing system to pay invoices and turn on paperless billing. Customers can pay bills manually on the website monthly or set up auto-pay. Importantly, customers who had previously set up auto-pay must now do it in the new system.
You can also continue to pay by mail or in person at the office.
Customers who pay through a bank or credit union bill pay system must update the payee account number to their new five-digit account number.
