SHELBYVILLE, Ind. – Jeff Air Pilot Services has announced its new home at Shelbyville Municipal Airport, ensuring uninterrupted flight training for students, veterans, and aviation professionals in central Indiana. Following the City of Greenwood’s decision to terminate Jeff Air’s lease with only 60 days’ notice, the family-owned flight school has secured a new base to continue its mission.
The transition to Shelbyville begins on March 15, with full flight school operations resuming on April 1. Jeff Air’s Anderson location remains active, and both sites await FAA approval for 14 CFR Part 141 training. Currently, 14 CFR Part 61 training is available immediately.
Jeff Air said it remains steadfast in its mission to provide top-tier flight training and professional development opportunities for aspiring pilots. The company continues its strong partnership with Indiana Wesleyan University, offering students hands-on aviation education. Its application with the Veterans Administration (VA) is pending for both Anderson and Shelbyville locations, ensuring veterans can access GI Bill benefits for their training.
To further expand accessibility, Jeff Air has secured final approval with Stratus Financial, allowing flight students to apply for funding through that company’s dedicated aviation financing program.
“Our move to Shelbyville is an opportunity to expand and enhance our services for pilots and students across Central Indiana,” said a representative from Jeff Air. “While we were deeply disappointed by the City of Greenwood’s decision, we are incredibly grateful for the support of Shelbyville Municipal Airport and their commitment to fostering aviation education.”
