PRINCE’S LAKES, Ind. – The Town of Prince’s Lakes announced on Tuesday that the Prince’s Lakes Water Department will begin flushing fire hydrants throughout the town. Flushing will continue for approximately 30 days and will be conducted between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Cleansing is necessary to improve water quality and to ensure proper hydrant operation. Be advised that you may experience a drop in water pressure as well as some discoloration of the water during this process. The discoloration of the water is only temporary and does not indicate a problem with the water. If your water does become discolored, turn on an outside faucet to clear the water line before doing any laundry or cleaning.
Officials will continue to monitor water quality during this period to ensure the water remains safe to drink and apologize for any inconvenience the flushing may cause.
Contact the Prince’s Lakes Water Department at 812-526-2126 with any questions or concerns.
