COLUMBUS, Ind. – The City of Columbus Department of Public Works has announced that its Sanitation Department’s brush pile and yard waste toter routes will start this Monday, March 17, and continue weekly through December 12.
Brush and yard waste toters are emptied on the same day as trash collection. Residents should have toters at the curb by 7 a.m. on collection day. The City’s yard waste program is for the disposal of common green yard wastes such as grass clippings, weeds, leaves, and flowers.

Large piles of brush exceeding 6’ in length, or larger than a pick-up truck load, must be submitted for collection through the CurbCycle App, or called into the Department of Public Works Office at 812-376-2509.
Yard waste toters must be free of :

- Sticks, branches, wood, or tree trimmings
- Rocks and mulch
- Household food
- Pet waste
