NORTH VERNON, Ind. – Jennings County 9-1-1 received a call on Tuesday afternoon March 11 that a male had passed away and the caller said she had last spoken to the male about 20 minutes earlier.
Jennings County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) deputies and detectives responded to the residence and were directed to the deceased male. They immediately recognized that the male had been dead longer than the caller had stated.
Law enforcement secured the scene and began to interview those at the residence. During the interviews, the caller, Tina Pelsor, 46, supposedly admitted that she had not given them an accurate timeline. Authorities said they observed that the woman was intoxicated.
The Jennings County Coroner’s Office determined the man had been deceased for at least two hours.
The deputies and detectives confronted the female and reported she then admitted to methamphetamine use. JCSO allegedly found meth and drug-related items in the house.
After getting consent, deputies searched the home and found a female hiding in a closet. The woman, Wanda Arnold, 57, was detained. It was later learned that she had an active Jennings County felony warrant. Authorities also interviewed her about the deceased male and during questioning they believed she was also intoxicated.
The cause of death has not yet been determined, however, no foul play is suspected. Pelsor and Arnold were taken to Jennings County Jail on the following preliminary charges.
