JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind. – Thunderstorms were prevalent Wednesday evening in south-central Indiana. A tornado was confirmed in Bartholomew County and severe high caused damage in Johnson County.
According to Fox59, strong winds ripped part of the roof off the Franklin Skate Club, near U.S. 31. However, after speaking with Johnson County Emergency Management, it was reportedly not the skate club but the metal building just south that was damaged.
No injuries or road closures have been reported, however there are power lines down. Most of the power was restored last night. Major Andy Fisher with the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office corroborated the information, saying no significant damage has yet been reported to them, though he has heard reports that the City of Franklin saw higher rates of damage and debris.
More information will be provided as it becomes available.
