FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Franklin College Center of Diversity and Inclusion recently honored the recipients of its annual Women of Distinction Awards in recognition of National Women’s History Month.
This year marks a decade of celebrating women who have excelled, persevered, and paved the way for others through their professional leadership, volunteer service, and civic and campus engagement.
Each year, the Franklin College community is invited to nominate outstanding women on campus, as well as members of the local community, for the honor. A panel of judges selects a winner in each of the four categories––student, faculty, staff, and community member, with the winners being recognized with a commemorative plaque.
Listed below are the winners in each category:

- Faculty: Kyra Noerr, Ph.D., of Indianapolis, joined the college in 2013 and is the program director and associate professor of exercise science at the college. She earned her Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, and doctorate from IUPUI in Indianapolis.
