NORTH VERNON, Ind. – The Broadway stage has long been a battlefield between good and evil, and on April 12 and 13 the Park Theatre Civic Centre in North Vernon is bringing the ultimate showdown to life with a show celebrating both heroes and villains in the world of musical theater.
“Heroes and Villains of Broadway” will showcase the best and most beloved songs from Broadway musicals Wicked, Hamilton, Les Miserables, The Phantom of the Opera, The Music Man, Beetlejuice, Jesus Christ Superstar, and more.
Park Theatre board president Patti Yount said, “The show features local performers from Jennings, Jackson, and Bartholomew counties. You will be impressed by the quality and depth of talent, both young and old, we have in our area.”
The cast includes Max Maschino, Zoey Dillon, Matthew Floyd, Jason Sanders, Ruby Blankenbeker, Emma Mellencamp, Lila Sanders, Ellamae Lewis, Lilly Nott, Naomi Bright, KayAnn Johnson, Bennett Stevens, Stella Stevens, Lennon Leonard, Tally Bright, Levi Blankenbeker, Andrew Eaken, Ally Parker, Franny Woodall, Lilly Charlton, Leonel Jimenez, Hope Burke, Sarah Dillon, Leah Hall, Abby Decker, Stephen Blankenbeker, Casey Ernstes, Shawn Charlton, Jack George, Paul Keller, Heather Howard, Kristina Charlton and Dave George
Andrew Rodriguez is the director, and Rachel Rodriguez is the assistant director/music director. Both will also perform. Dave and Jenny George are in charge of lighting, and Kristina Charlton creates costumes. Heather Howard is the choreographer.
Showtimes are 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, and 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 13. Tickets are $10 for adults and teens, and $5 for children 12 and under, and can be purchased in advance at the Park Theatre box office, 25 N. Madison Ave., in North Vernon.
The box office is open 2 to 5 p.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays. Or call the box office at 812-346-0330 to make arrangements to reserve tickets. Only cash and checks are accepted.
