FRANKLIN, Ind. – Garden Celebration marks “20 Years and Growing” and promises to be bigger and better than ever. Shop for unique and popular plant varieties at the event on Saturday, May 3, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
“A growing interest in gardening has allowed Garden Celebration to blossom since it started in 2004,” says Gary Kiesel, Johnson County Garden Club president. “We had about 25 vendors then in just one building. Today, we’re one of the best true garden shows around.”
As proof, last year featured 75 vendors and a record attendance of about 1,500. This year, they will display their wares in both Scott and Herring halls at the fairgrounds in Franklin, as well as a connecting courtyard. Several annuals, perennials, and vegetables will be for sale, as well as garden art and cottage-farm products.
Johnson County Master Gardeners, Purdue Extension, and other agencies will be on hand to answer gardening and nature questions and mentor new gardeners in how to care for the flowers, succulents, shrubs, grasses, vegetables, trees, and houseplants they buy or already own.
Parking is free, with handicapped parking available on the east side of Scott Hall. Admission is still $2 per person, cash only, and children 12 and under are free.
