COLUMBUS, Ind. – In honor of the inaugural Chuck Taylor Day on Saturday, June 7, the Bartholomew County Historical Society (BCHS) has announced the release of limited edition, custom-designed Converse Chuck Taylor All Star sneakers—a bold tribute to Columbus native Chuck Taylor and the city’s world-renowned design legacy.
These one-of-a-kind shoes feature Paul Rand’s beloved “Dancing Cs” in an exclusive design that fuses creativity, history, and community spirit. It’s your chance to own a piece of Columbus heritage in true All-Star style.
The limited-edition Chuck Taylor Converse All Star shoes, custom-designed to feature Paul Rand’s iconic “Dancing Cs,” are available exclusively by pre-order. A $100 donation to the Bartholomew County Historical Society is required for low-top shoes, while high-top shoes are available for a $110 donation. Orders must be placed by April 22, with pre-payment required and no refunds.
The shoes will not be sold at the Chuck Taylor Day event and are only available through this special pre-order opportunity. Order in person at BCHS, 524 3rd Street, in Columbus, or online here.
Celebrate the legacy of a hometown hero on Chuck Taylor Day on June 7 at the Bartholomew County Historical Society and surrounding properties. The day will feature basketball-themed fun, music, food and drinks, kids’ activities, and the unveiling of a giant Chuck Taylor shoe sculpture at BCHS.
Everyone should wear their “Chucks” to the 6 p.m. group photo on Library Plaza. The photo will be submitted to the Guinness Book of World Records for the most people wearing Chuck Taylors in one place.
