COLUMBUS, Ind. – In recent weeks, south-central Indiana has experienced a steady decline in viral respiratory rates and hospitalizations. Therefore, Columbus Regional Health has announced a downgrade of its current visitation options at the hospital campus on 17th Street in Columbus.
Effective immediately, the visitation restrictions implemented in response to the respiratory viral season have been lifted.
Visitors age 14 and up are welcome, at the discretion of the patient’s care team and any capacity restraints within the inpatient care setting.
CRH says the following visitation amendments remain applicable:
- Suggested visitation hours remain unchanged
- Amendments may be made in extenuating circumstances at the discretion of unit leadership
- Visitors may be asked to adhere to all isolation precautions by donning masks or additional personal protective equipment (PPE) when determined necessary by the patient care team
- Visitors experiencing symptoms of a potentially contagious illness are discouraged from visiting
Alternative visitor options remain in place for the Birthing Center:
- Laboring patients may have three designated support persons
- No one under the age of 14 will be allowed in the Birthing Center, except siblings of the newborn
- Visitation hours remain 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.; no visitation allowed during Maternal Rest Time (2 to 4 a.m. and 2 to 4 p.m.)
