COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Columbus High School boys rugby team made a thunderous return to the pitch last Wednesday night, shutting out North Central 69-0 at McCullough’s Run Park.
It was a night to remember—the team’s first game in over seven years after the program folded back in 2018. But Columbus didn’t just return—they roared back.
Leading the charge was Jackson Haston, who racked up an impressive 32 points with three tries, one penalty kick, and seven conversions. Not far behind, Jose Ramirez powered his way to scoring an incredible five tries, adding 25 points to the scoreboard.
Up next, the “Columbus Rugby Boys” hit the road to face Westside on Wednesday at 6 p.m. They return home on Saturday to take on Brownsburg High School boys at 3 p.m. at McCullough’s Run Park. Admission is free, and the community is encouraged to come and show their support.
