INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Duke Energy has allocated $700,000 to help low-income families with heating expenses this year. About $85,000 in contributions from Duke Energy customers will be added to the total.
“We know that winter heating bills can be a hardship for individuals and families who are already struggling financially,” said Duke Energy Indiana President Melody Birmingham-Byrd. “Last year we were able to help 5,600 Hoosier households.”
Customers will be able to receive up to $300 toward their electric bills if they have a referral from the local Energy Assistance Program.
