COLUMBUS, Ind. – Otter Creek Golf Course has again been selected to host the 2023 AJGA Junior Championship, June 25 – 29. Columbus has been recognized for its amazing volunteer support in the past, and the city needs your help again to show national and international competitors and families what makes Columbus and Otter Creek the best place in the country to play.
The volunteer turnout in Columbus always amazes the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) organizers. Out of over 70 tournaments they held in 2021 around the country, the Otter Creek tournament was named “Tournament of the Year.” The AJGA event in Columbus in 2022 raised $75,000 for Foundation for Youth.
Volunteers, especially spotters, are still needed for this year’s event. If you can spare some time to help, email Don Nissen at dnissen@columbus.in.us or call Ike DeClue at 812-552-6441.
Besides having the chance to watch some of the best high school golfers in America, volunteers receive the following benefits:
- Official tournament golf shirt
- Complimentary food and beverage
Volunteers that work 10+ hours also receive:
- Complimentary round of golf at Otter Creek Golf Course
- Official AJGA golf hat
- Official AJGA lapel pin
